"the other","another","other"这些词怎么用？

像“the other”、“another”、“other”、“others”这类的词究竟怎样用？有什么区别？
还有“one…the other”、“some…the other”、“some…others”这类的，常常搞不清楚。

请高人指教。

1.other可用作形容词，修饰单、复数名词。如：

We study Chinese，maths，English and other lessons．我们学习语文、数学、英语和其他课程。

I have no other place to go．我别无去处。

2.the other表示两者中特指的“另一个”或“另一部分”。如：

Where is the other sock？另一只袜子在哪里？

John is here，but the other children are at school．约翰在这里，其他的孩子都在学校。

3.another用于泛指三个以上的不定数目中的“另一个”，后面可接单数名词，也可省略后面的名词，用作代词。如：

I don”t like this coat．Please give me another（one）．我不喜欢这件外套，请再给我拿一件。

I have another three days” holiday．我又有三天假。

如:Some cleaned the windows, others mopped the floor. 有的擦窗户, 有的擦地板。
